The AmeriCares Free Clinics (AFC) was established in 1994 to serve the medical needs of the working poor. Its creation was in response to the growing problem of low income, uninsured individuals in Connecticut. The AFC's mission is to provide free quality health care to Connecticut's uninsured, while protecting each patient's sense of dignity and self-respect.
