Drop-in center provides a safe place for people in New Haven who are trying to stop using alcohol or drugs, or are in the early stages of recovery. Center offers employment assistance, education, meditation, and recovery groups, assistance obtaining social services, referrals to treatment, a place for support and relaxation, shower and laundry facilities, and telephones for making local calls. Center does not provide treatment, but staff can assist with finding treatment.
Eligibility:People in New Haven; Substance abusers trying to stop using or in the early stages of recovery; homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
Fee:No fee
Other information:No drugs, alcohol, or weapons are allowed in the center

This is a health care center funded by the federal government. This means even if you have no insurance you can be covered. The center is also income based for those making an income. This health center can cover services such as checkups, treatment, pregnancy care (where applicable), immunizations and child care (where applicable), prescription medicine and mental and substance abuse where applicable.
