Founded in 1980 to provide health care services to the uninsured and underserved residents of the Oakhurst section of the city of Decatur in south DeKalb County. We now own and operate our Stone Mountain Facility as well as a recently acquired Decatur Clinic. Oakhurst Medical Center is the only federally funded community health center based in DeKalb County. With support from the federal Bureau for Primary Health Care, OMC serves uninsured and medically underserved residents in the county and surrounding communities at its clinic locations in Stone Mountain and Decatur. One of the first locations in Decatur was in the basement of Oakhurst Presbyterian Church. Recognizing that the factors which challenge and impact one's quality of life are numerous in both scope and nature, we participate in a number of collaborative relationships designed to extend the scope of our services and to establish a continuum of care to meet the needs of the communities we serve.

This is a health care center funded by the federal government. This means even if you have no insurance you can be covered. The center is also income based for those making an income. This health center can cover services such as checkups, treatment, pregnancy care (where applicable), immunizations and child care (where applicable), prescription medicine and mental and substance abuse where applicable.
