TPA Network was founded in 1987 by HIV positive people who believed that self-empowerment and the sharing of information were vital to living productive lives with HIV. Today we remain committed to peer-led services and self-empowerment. As a part of this commitment, nearly 90% of our staff and volunteers are HIV positive. TPAN is one of the few AIDS Service Organizations (ASOs) providing services to all individuals living with or impacted by HIV. Our clientele comes from throughout Chicago and is ethnically diverse - 46% Euro-American, 40% African American, 11% Latino/a and 1% other. All programs and services are developed with input from individuals living with HIV, and are provided whenever possible by HIV+ peers.
