The ALA of North Carolina was formed in 1906 and the national organization was organized in 1904 to raise funds for the study, control and prevention of tuberculosis. Following the control of TB through education and drug therapy, the organization expanded its role to address all lung diseases and related causes. Our goals are accomplished by raising funds for education, research and advocacy. Number #1 priority: Asthma.
