Sister Mary Issac founded outreach, in 1984 that had a deep concern for the homeless people and poor of this area, which includes six surrounding counties. Until 2001 we have run completely on the donations of food and clothing from parishioners and others by word of mouth. We now find that it is necessary to have a full time director seeking donations, grants, doing fundraisers and endowments. With the director as the one paid staff person this operation is run with more than 60 volunteers who give of their time so generously to this Outreach. We are open five days a week so that we can take care of the many needs of the people. Our next endeavor is to obtain funding for a program to help teach single mothers to get six months of computer training, life skills, job training, etc. so that they can get better paying jobs in which to support themselves and their children.
