Free Medical Clinics

The Free Clinic of Danville is dedicated to the belief that everyone should have access to health care services. Our mission is to provide primary medical care to US citizens of Danville and Pittsylvania County who do not have the resources to obtain these basic health care needs.

Office hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday Clinic: 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
By appointment only

The Clinic provides free primary medical, laboratory services, and gynecology services by special appointment.

Emphasis is placed on preventive care, patient education, and non-emergency problems, with referrals made to a limited number of area specialists.

Services we do not provide:

    * Services available through the Health Department
    * Second opinions
    * Disability determination exams
    * STD screening or treatment
    * Pregnancy testing
    * Screening mammograms
    * Extensive routine exams (i.e., truckers’ exams)
    * Emergency services
    * Care for persons who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Eligibility

Eligibility for Clinic services will be evaluated during the initial visit. Financial documentation will be requested at this time, and eligibility will be based on the following criteria:

    * Total household income and benefits
    * No medical insurance
    * May not be enrolled in other programs that duplicate services
    * Ineligible for government assisted programs such as: Medicare B, Medicaid, Veterans Medical Benefits, Workers Compensation, etc.

Medications

All Clinic patients are asked to pay $5.00 per prescription.

THERE ARE NO NARCOTICS PRESCRIBED.

NO DRUGS ARE KEPT ON THE PREMISES.
